I think it's really cool that my great-grand father led the Nicaraguan Revolucionary Movement against the Conservative Party, he was a war medic, who later on left the military and became a civil (civilian) doctor. His name was Enrique Lacayo.
His party, the Liberals, were once part of Somoza's Conservative party, but the Liberals separated from the Conservatives because they were making a communist country out of Nicaragua.
In revenge, Somoza had a plan to kill him and his wife, but they left the city of Managua as soon as they could. Somoza, after finding out he sent a squad to hunt him down, with no results of his exact location.
Enrique gathered a bunch of natives, and commanded them to steal weapons from Somoza. When they gathered enough guns they stormed the government palace, and my Great grand father killed Somoza head on, liberating nicaragua
